Job Summary:
As a TV Screener at Al-Rai TV, you play a pivotal role in maintaining our commitment to quality and cultural integrity. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously monitor and screen all recorded audio/visual materials to ensure they meet Al-Rai TV’s high standards for broadcasting content, align with Kuwaiti society values, and adhere to technical and censorship guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Screening: Proactively watch all recorded A/V materials, ensuring they meet broadcasting standards and cultural sensitivity requirements before airing.
Technical Proficiency: Efficiently manage various video formats, performing necessary conversions to align with broadcast standards using media encoders.
Quality Control: Identify and rectify technical issues in recordings, making informed decisions on content suitability based on established criteria.
Censorship Compliance: Vigilantly monitor for censorship issues, editing content as necessary to comply with local cultural and societal norms.
Technology Adaptation: Operate and troubleshoot linear and non-linear editing machines and software, embracing new technology advancements in the field.
Program Segmentation: Accurately segment programs according to break patterns and insert program data into the Broadcast Traffic System (BTS) or equivalent scheduling software.
Advertisement Screening: Assess advertisements for compliance with censorship and quality standards, coordinating with major Ads Media Delivery Platforms (e.g., Adstream, Gbox, IMD).
Digital Coding: Categorize materials (commercials, programs, promos) for digital coding and broadcasting.
Scheduling Support: Communicate discrepancies in program durations to planners, potentially affecting the broadcast schedule.
Reporting: Compile initial acceptance reports for both acquired and internally produced programs, ensuring readiness for broadcast.
Job Requirements:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Mass Communication, or a closely related field.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in video production or TV broadcasting within a media/broadcasting environment.
Cultural Sensitivity: A profound understanding of Kuwaiti culture, societal norms, and political landscapes.
Technical Skills: Expertise in linear and non-linear video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut), with a strong grasp of broadcasting technology, video ingest, and playout systems.
Communication Skills: Excellent command of Arabic language with good command of English.
Computer Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and pivot tables.
IT Knowledge: A solid foundation in IT-related aspects essential for the role.
