Manager Legal – Operations

Location: Muscat, Oman

Function: Legal Operations

Job Purpose

Lead and manage the legal operations function to support OQEP’s core business and operational activities under the direction of the VP Legal. Key responsibilities include providing business-focused legal advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing contracts and stakeholder engagements, and leading a legal team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Provide legal advice across upstream operational functions including technical, commercial, supply chain, HSE, and project delivery.
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance by developing legal processes, governance frameworks, and risk controls.
Manage legal support for contracts, regulatory engagements, and compliance programs.
Lead and develop the Legal Operations team; coordinate with external counsel.
Draft, review, and negotiate operational contracts such as EPC, drilling, maintenance, service agreements, and logistics.
Advise on legal issues related to operational risks, business continuity, contractor performance, and regulatory compliance.
Operate in alignment with OQEP’s mission, vision, values, strategies, company policies, guidelines, and international standards.

Reports to: Vice President – Legal
Direct Reports: Lead Counsel (2), Senior Specialist Legal Counsel (1)
