Vacancy: Fleet Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
The Fleet Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and upkeep of the company’s vehicle fleet, which includes SUVs, trucks, vans, passenger cars, and specialized equipment. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and carrying out timely repairs to ensure all fleet assets are safe, roadworthy, and compliant with internal standards and local regulations. The role also involves supporting operational readiness by minimizing vehicle downtime and contributing to improved overall fleet efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
▪ Perform regular preventive maintenance (oil and filter changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, etc.) on fleet vehicles.
▪ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, brake, and suspension issues on light and heavy-duty vehicles.
▪ Perform detailed vehicle inspections in accordance with safety and compliance checklists.
▪ Identify potential failures early and recommend corrective actions to minimize breakdowns.
▪ Maintain service logs, inspection reports, and repair history in the fleet management system.
▪ Coordinate with the Fleet Maintenance Manager to prioritize and schedule repair work based on operational needs.
▪ Respond to vehicle breakdowns or roadside incidents and perform on-site repairs when necessary.
▪ Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and comply with applicable safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
▪ Monitor inventory of parts and tools and request replenishment when needed.
▪ Support the decommissioning or reassignment process for older vehicles.
▪ Perform basic fabrication or welding tasks when needed to support equipment maintenance.
▪ Report recurring vehicle issues and assist in identifying root causes for repeat failures.
▪ Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all health and safety procedures and using PPE as required.
▪ Stay updated on vehicle technologies, tools, and industry best practices through training or certifications.
▪ Follow company protocols for reporting and documenting issues.
▪ Ensure the implementation of QHSE Management System in line with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018 and ongoing compliance to the standards. Qualifications & Experience
▪ High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive repair.
▪ 5-6 years of experience in vehicle maintenance.
▪ Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, vehicle electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
▪ Proficient in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
