Required jobs in GMG company and their details:
1. Stock Controller
The stock controller will be responsible for managing the purchasing and replenishment of the retail products. The role holder is also responsible for maintaining the stock levels within the budget set by the business.
Responsibilities:
Ensures that all inventory and stock management systems are maintained and updated accurately, and within the agreed parameters
Receives delivered supplies, materials, and equipment; confirms that delivered goods match purchase order specifications of quantity, condition, model number, etc.; completes all necessary paperwork for stock items received
Manages all stock movements in and out, and maintain complete log of all stock movement to ensure stocks are tallied with the transfer documents
Maintains stock levels within the agreed inventory parameters; scans stock received and delivered and highlight any discrepancy, to ensure stock movement is logged and properly controlled.
Maintains the storeroom and the allocation of space for stock; ensures the storeroom meets defined regulations
Supervises the implementation of health and safety procedures
Coordinates with Store operations staffs to identify and prepare damaged stock list to ensure the said stock is scanned, packed and sent to the warehouse after obtaining required approvals
Executes weekly cycle counts of inventory materials based upon system reports; assists in conducting complete physical inventory count annually
2. Store Manager
The role holder is responsible for managing and driving sales for the store through efficient store operations, visual merchandising, customer service delivery, motivation and retention of store personnel in adherence to GMG norms. The job holder is also responsible for managing and coaching the store team.
Core Responsibilities:
Communicates store targets to the team and drives sales to achieve financial objectives
Maintains proper loss prevention standards and ensures compliance with cash handling, fraud and theft of products
Oversees and monitors all point of sales activities in the store which includes - sales transactions, tracking customer orders and payments, registering sale and maintaining inventory updates, providing service, handling returns and refunds, gathering consumer data for feedback’ etc.
Oversees cash transaction entry and management (petty cash, point of sales (POS) cash elements, change floats)
Regularly audits own store administration and resolves any issues; assists in carrying out annual stock counts and spot checks
Monitors and handles customer complaints and take corrective action in line with policy; resolves customer complaints and responds to feedback in a timely and professional manner
Tracks and evaluates brand sales performance, research market trends and competitor trading activities to identify critical business factors and propose action plans to increase sales and profitability
Monitors and analyzes sales reports and provides insights to maximize stock potential; reports on the performance of new and core collections
Maintains window and in-store displays to a high standard in line with merchandising guidelines
Oversees and monitors the inventory management in the store ( stock availability, order management, back store management, stock movement within store)
Ensures accurate stock merchandise and management (stock ageing , stock loss, space management) within the store
Coordinates with facilities department on repairs or replacements of furniture or equipment; supports company maintenance standards/programs to optimize asset life
Maintains staffing levels consistent with operational needs to ensure exceptional customer service; prepares schedules and ensures adequate shift coverage
Ensures seasonal peaks, important promotional events are taken account of when preparing forecasts and staff rosters
Ensures that the team is adequately trained in inventory management techniques such as in-bound movement of goods, receiving, stocking, restocking, transfers and managing inventory discrepancies
3. Retail Trainer

4. Store Supervisor
The role holder is responsible for providing support in driving sales through the performance and development of the Store Sales team. The role is also responsible of ensuring the delivery of exceptional operational, commercial and customer service standards.
Core Responsibilities:
Supports in delivering the store annual sales targets
Assists in maintaining proper coverage and schedule so as to ensure the store maintains high levels of customer service
Conducts store operations audits to ensure compliance with the required store standard operating policies
Oversees the store’s after sales processes and ensures full adherence to repair/return policies and procedures through proper communication with internal stakeholders.
Ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved and customer service provided is of exceptional standard; identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapports with potential and existing customers
Ensures that visual merchandising standards are achieved and that products are displayed in accordance with brand policy
Ensures promotions and pricing are accurate and in tune with company standards and policies.
Generates and analyzes sales reports and provides insights to maximize stock potential; reports on the performance of new and core collections
Submits daily invoices and sales recap to Finance
Executes store operations including cash handling, inventory taking and record keeping in line with company’s standard operating procedures
Maintains proper loss prevention standards and ensures compliance with cash handling, fraud and theft of products
Manages inventory such as in-bound movement of goods, receiving, stocking, restocking, transfers and managing inventory discrepancies
Ensures interior and exterior of the store are clean and maintained to company and brand standards
Directs the team to follow standard operating procedures and store appearance standards
Carries out the duties of a cashier (as required)
People Management:
Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective implementation of the GMG’s performance management process
Develops talent within the team by providing guidance, mentoring and coaching to achieve the defined goals
Drives a culture of feedback and coaching in the Business Unit/ Department by providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs and coaching the employees on the areas of improvement.
